REMINDER: Revised Cooling Off Notice must be used from today

1 June 2026

From today, 1 June 2026, there is a new form of Cooling Off Notice that MUST be used in all residential contracts for sale of residential property and option contracts. 

The transitional period has now ended. Contracts or options exchanged from today must include the updated prescribed notice. 

The revised Cooling Off Notice reflects amendments introduced by the Conveyancing and Real Property Amendment Act 2025 (NSW)

Members should ensure their contract precedents, templates and systems have been updated to include the new Cooling Off Notice. 

As requirements may vary depending on the circumstances of the transaction, we recommend consulting the vendor’s conveyancer or solicitor to confirm compliance.
