Last night, REINSW recognised outstanding industry achievement, crowning the winners of its 2024 REINSW Awards for Excellence.
This year we acknowledge and celebrate 27 years of the REINSW Awards for Excellence and the fact that it continues to be the most prestigious and respected industry awards event in New South Wales, recognising the best of the best within the real estate industry.
REINSW CEO Tim McKibbin says this year the Awards for Excellence celebrates those who have truly gone above and beyond, even in the face of challenging times.
"Once again, we were amazed by the high calibre of entrants in this year’s Awards for Excellence, especially given the continuing challenges agents have faced over the past year," says Mr. McKibbin. "Each of you has raised the bar for excellence in real estate, and we are proud to celebrate your remarkable achievements this evening."
“There has been a lot happening over the last year, the high level of interest rates and cost of living pressures are seeing many homeowners forced to sell properties that they only purchased in the last 12-36 months. Investors have been exiting the market in large numbers across NSW due to those same pressures coupled with changes to our tenancy legislation. Agents have been tasked with navigating through this housing crisis amid the lack of supply.
“Last night REINSW was proud to be able to honour our finalists and winners by coming together to celebrate at the Star Entertainment Centre, in Sydney. It was an evening filled with excitement, with close to 550 members and esteemed guests coming together for a fun and lively celebration.
"With so many outstanding nominees, selecting the top professional and agency in each category proved to be a challenging task.
"Those who took home a winner’s trophy can take immense pride in their well-deserved accomplishment,” says Mr McKibbin
This year we handed out 9 agency and 15 individual category awards. Lloyd Edge from Aus Property Professionals took out the Buyers’ Agent of the year award.
Joseph Assaf from Ray White Commercial Western Sydney won Commercial Salesperson of the year.
The Tim Anderson OAM Residential Property Manager award (in honour of a much-loved member of the REINSW) went to Kellie Andriessen from Newcastle Property Management; and the Residential Salesperson award went to Ben Pike from Pulse Property Agents.
The most prestigious award of the night, the Woodrow Weight Award, which recognises outstanding contribution to real estate agency practice was presented to Ewan Morton from Morton Real Estate in Sydney.
“We are delighted to be awarding this accolade to an exceptional industry leader, someone whose entrepreneurial spirit, innovative mindset, and unwavering commitment to excellence has not only built a successful business but has also set new standards for the industry.
“Ewan’s contributions to the real estate industry are immeasurable. He leads with a vision that is both innovative and grounded, consistently seeking new ways to expand and improve whatever he sets his mind to.
“With his dedication to excellence, paired with his approachable and honest leadership style, he exemplifies what it means to be a leader, a mentor, and an innovator. Ewan is one of the most valued and respected members of our profession today and a well-deserved recipient of this award,” says Mr McKibbin.
