Cost: FREE for REINSW members

Points: 1 CPD point

The technology enabling electronic signatures on documents is available and working. But in what situations can electronic signatures be used, and are there any risks involved with signing agreements in this way?

This webinar will be led by two legal partners of Colin Biggers and Paisley.

They will provide an overview on the history of electronic contracts, the discussion on the current status of the interpretation of the Electronic Transactions Act 1999 and the next step for electronic signatures.

They will give a high level overview of the DocuSign system, explaining how it works, what proof it provides of vital steps such as when a contract was opened, the accepting of the terms and conditions, and the time and place the agreement was signed.

They will explain how agents can use the InfoTrack system to find critical information pertaining to property, company, personal and national search data

The current REINSW position on electronic signatures will be explained in detail and how the electronic signatures technology can now be used with REINSW's REI Forms Live system including the new landlords' insurance "add on".

You will come away from this webinar with a clear understanding of how electronic signatures can help you in finalising the various types of agreements that you need to use in your day-to-day work.
